Lake Tahoe, NV & CA
Lake Tahoe is a large freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada’s of the United States with a surface elevation of 6,225 feet. Tahoe is a major tourist attraction in both Nevada and California. It is home to a number of ski resorts, summer outdoor recreation and tourist attractions. Snow and skiing are a significant part of the area’s economy and reputation. Mountain and lake scenery are attractions throughout the year. The Nevada side also includes large casinos. Highways provide year-round access to the area.
The area around Lake Tahoe was previously inhabited by the Washoe tribe of Native Americans. Although the lake lies on the border of California and Nevada, the east side of the lake is primarily located in the state of Nevada and home to several large multi-million dollar estates owned by the rich and famous. But the lesser rich/medium income person can also own a piece of paradise. Most condo’s and homes start at around $200,000 and move upward from there. Some smaller ski condo studios can be a steal for under that $200,000 threshold.
